This image shows why I like using natural shots. It show the relationship between the two subject and yet does not need the boundaries of a studio. I also like the use of depth of field, this image shows the subjects and the wheat in front of them but the brick wall that is behind becomes blurry making your focus on the subject. This could be achieved by increasing the aperture to f3.5 to give a shorter focal distance.
For the lighting I think that a reflective panel is used to sent back some of the sunlight to light the subject. Finally the use of the monochrome effect gives the image a portrait effect this maybe because of how old black and white portraits used to be. If I was going to create this image again I would properly use the in camera monochrome setting instead of applying this later, this would allow me to see the final image before any editing process on a computer.
