Welcome
Image Analysis
This image shows why I like using natural shots. It show the relationship between the two subject and yet does not need the boundaries of a studio. I also like the use of depth of field, this image shows the subjects and the wheat in front of them but the brick wall that is behind becomes blurry making your focus on the subject. This could be achieved by increasing the aperture to f3.5 to give a shorter focal distance.
For the lighting I think that a reflective panel is used to sent back some of the sunlight to light the subject. Finally the use of the monochrome effect gives the image a portrait effect this maybe because of how old black and white portraits used to be. If I was going to create this image again I would properly use the in camera monochrome setting instead of applying this later, this would allow me to see the final image before any editing process on a computer.

About Me & My Camera
My name is Joel and I am currently studying Photography. I am using a Canon DSLR camera to take my all my images which are be found on this blog. I have enjoyed taking photos for a long time and now plan to extend my knowledge of photography. Recently I have begun to focus on specific areas of photography instead of taking images as they come. These areas include Nature and Natural Portraits.
The camera I have used to take the majority of my images is the Canon EOS 1000D, although this is not a top Canon model I have found it has all the features I currently need to use such as adjustable: Shutter Speed, Light settings, Aperture, ISO and in camera edits such as Monochrome. I have to lenses that I use with the camera a stock 18-55mm lens and a Sigma 75-300mm lens with a macro setting so I can get up close with my nature shots. Finally the 1000d has 10 mega pixels with allows me to enlarge my images for mounting and showing without any pixilation.
